Jazz & Java to Take Place Tuesday

Jazz and Java

A group of Lee University students will host “Jazz & Java” at BonLife Coffee on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. The event will feature the Lee University Small Jazz Ensemble, who will perform music by Chick Corea, Tim Ferguson, Kenny Garrett, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, and more.

The concert was organized by the group of students for a project in their music entrepreneurship class to book and manage a local "gig."

“On the day our classes conclude, this concert combines creative cats (jazz musicians), and killer coffee in a convivial, commendable coffeehouse,” said David Walrod, a member of the “Jazz & Java” development team. “Staying home could cause catastrophic consequences.”

The cover charge for the event is $5 at the door. Beverages will be available for sale from BonLife Coffee, which is located at 1807 Keith Street in Cleveland.

The project is overseen by Lee music professors Drs. Nathan Warner and Jose Ruiz. Warner directs the Small Jazz Ensemble.
